Vanguard Long-Term Bond Index Fund Investor Shares

This fund endeavors to replicate the investment results of the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Long Government/Credit Float Adjusted Index. This benchmark index comprises publicly issued debt instruments from the U.S. government, investment-grade corporations, and investment-grade international entities, all denominated in U.S. dollars. These issues, which are of medium to large size, must also feature maturities extending beyond a decade. The fund's holdings are chosen using a sampling approach, and it commits to investing at least 80% of its portfolio in securities that are part of the underlying index.
