United Plantations Berhad specializes in the cultivation and processing of agricultural crops, notably palm oil and coconuts. The company's activities are divided into three primary segments. Its Plantations division manages the farming and initial processing of oil palm and coconut directly on its estates. The Palm Oil Refining segment is dedicated to the manufacturing of edible oils, fats, and cocoa butter substitutes from palm oil, as well as engaging in the trade of crude palm oil and its derivatives. Furthermore, an "Others" segment provides bulk storage and handling solutions for vegetable oils and molasses. The company was established in 1906 by Aage Westenholz and is headquartered in Teluk Intan, Malaysia.
