Sumco Corporation, along with its various subsidiaries, is a prominent manufacturer and seller of silicon wafers, serving the semiconductor industry across numerous international markets, prominently in Japan, the United States, China, Taiwan, and Korea. The company's product line includes monocrystalline ingots, as well as diverse wafer types such as polished, annealed, epitaxial, junction-isolated, silicon-on-insulator (SOI), and reprocessed polished wafers. Established in 1999, the enterprise, originally known as Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corp., officially changed its name to Sumco Corporation in August 2005 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
