Valora Holding AG

Valora Holding AG, a European retailer established in 1905 and headquartered in Muttenz, Switzerland, specializes in the convenience and food service industries. Previously known as Merkur Holding AG until its renaming in July 1996, the company's operations are divided into two main divisions. Its Retail segment manages a network of compact retail stores across Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Austria. This division also oversees the marketing and distribution of newspapers, tobacco, and various consumer products, operating under recognized banners such as k kiosk, avec, Press & Books, ServiceStore DB, cigo, and U-store. The Food Service segment focuses on producing and distributing baked goods, including lye bread products like pretzels, baguettes, croissants, hot dogs, and sandwich snacks, in addition to other bakery items, through brands like BackWerk, Ditsch, Brezelkönig, and SuperGuud. This segment also includes the Caffè Spettacolo coffee-bar chain. Since September 30, 2022, Valora Holding AG has functioned as a subsidiary of Impulsora de Marcas e Intangibles S.A. de C.V.
