Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), through its various subsidiaries, owns and operates stock and futures exchanges, along with their associated clearing houses, across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the United Kingdom. Its business is structured into five distinct divisions: Cash, Equity and Financial Derivatives, Commodities, Post Trade, and Technology. The Cash division focuses on a range of equity products transacted on the cash market platforms of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, also encompassing the sale of relevant market data and other related activities. Within the Equity and Financial Derivatives division, HKEX provides and maintains robust trading platforms for a diverse array of equity and financial derivative instruments, including stock and equity index futures and options, derivative warrants, and callable bull/bear contracts, alongside the distribution of related market information. The Commodities division oversees an exchange in the United Kingdom dedicated to trading futures and options contracts for base, ferrous, and precious metals. Additionally, it manages Qianhai Mercantile Exchange Co., Ltd., a significant commodity trading venue in Mainland China, and handles commodities contracts executed on its Futures Exchange. Post Trade operations involve the management of clearing houses, which are tasked with crucial services such as clearing, settlement, depository, custodial, and nominee functions. The Technology division is responsible for delivering various services that grant users access to the company's platform and underlying infrastructure.
