Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A. functions as a diversified energy enterprise, managing integrated operations both within Portugal and across various international markets. Its business is structured into four principal divisions. The Upstream segment concentrates on the exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbons, primarily in key regions such as Brazil, Mozambique, and Angola. Within the Industrial & Energy Management segment, Galp operates refining facilities in Portugal. This division also oversees the management of oil products, gas, and electricity, provides essential infrastructure for storing and transporting oil and gas, and supplies electricity to national grids in both Portugal and Spain. The Commercial segment is responsible for the retail distribution of oil, gas, and electricity to a broad customer base, encompassing both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) clients. Finally, the Renewables and New Business segment is dedicated to developing solar and wind power generation projects in Portugal and Spain. This division also plays a role in producing advanced biofuels like biodiesel and green hydrogen. Additionally, Galp maintains an extensive network, operating 1,480 service stations and 1,186 electric vehicle charging points. Beyond its core energy activities, the company also participates in the reinsurance sector. Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A. was founded in 1999, adopting its current name in September 2000 after previously operating as Galp – Petróleos e Gás de Portugal, SGPS, S.A. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Lisbon, Portugal.
