CapitaLand Ascott Trust

CapitaLand Ascott Trust (ART) holds the distinction of being Asia Pacific's largest hospitality trust, boasting an asset valuation of S$7.2 billion as of December 31, 2020. Publicly traded on the Singapore Exchange (SGX-ST) since March 2006, ART's core mission is to acquire income-generating real estate and related assets. These investments span serviced residences, hotels, rental housing, and various other hospitality properties across the globe. From February 27, 2021, its investment scope expanded to include student accommodation. Reflecting its market standing, ART is also a component of the prestigious FTSE EPRA Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series (Global Developed Index). As of December 31, 2020, ART managed an extensive international portfolio. This includes 86 properties, totaling over 16,000 units, situated in 38 cities across 15 countries spanning Asia Pacific, Europe, and the United States. These assets primarily operate under well-known brands such as Ascott The Residence, Somerset, Quest, and Citadines. Their strategic locations include major global hubs like Barcelona, London, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo, among many others. Structured as a stapled group, ART consists of Ascott Real Estate Investment Trust (Ascott Reit) and Ascott Business Trust (Ascott BT). Its operations are overseen by two distinct management entities: Ascott Residence Trust Management Limited, which manages Ascott Reit, and Ascott Business Trust Management Pte. Ltd., acting as the trustee-manager for Ascott BT. Both management companies are wholly-owned by CapitaLand Limited, a prominent, Singapore-listed diversified real estate conglomerate in Asia.
